Back on the ocean waves now, although a lot calmer than when we came. We are about 200 miles off the coast of Portugal and about 1000 miles from Southampton.

Had a good second day in Madeira yesterday. I walked right along the promenade at Funchal and then took a ride up in the cable car. Then I walked to the start of the ride, where they slide people down the roads in basket sledges.

I’ve spent most of the morning whale-watching, or more appropriately sea-watching. The whales and dolphins seem to have had the morning off. There have been sightings on other days but unfortunately, not yet today.
