First thing on Wednesday we visited a local bird sanctuary.
This was essentially a zoo, but most of the birds were housed in extremely large walk-through cages so they could fly freely among trees in a rain forest environment.
There were some other animals……
but fortunately these had less freedom.
Although you might trip over a tortoise.
Later that day we flew to Salvador and checked into our hotel for one night there pending our ship’s arrival on Thursday
