It’s now Monday and we’ve been at sea since last Tuesday. There are plenty of things to do, lectures, entertainment and games etc., also I’ve joined the choir so we are practicing every day and the time is passing quickly.
Yesterday I met a fellow passenger who is keen to form a shanty singing group which sounds like fun. Hopefully that will also develop over the next few days.
And there’s plenty of wildlife. People have seen whales, dolphins and turtles, and there is always a friendly booby posing for photographs:

Yesterday I tried to photograph flying fish. They don’t make easy subjects and after 201 attempts, these were my best shots:

I must improve on that.
Crossing the Equator
We crossed the equator last Friday, which is always an excuse to throw crew members into the pool:

Now it’s the entertainment director, Oliver’s Turn:

The synchronised diving team in action:

On Saturday we had a birthday to celebrate so our dinner table relocated to one of the specialised restaurants.

We are following the Brazilian coastline and are due to arrive in Rio de Janeiro tomorrow morning. I’m planning a short walk to start the visit, but nothing strenuous, the temperature forecast is 35 degrees.
In the evening I will take the cable car to the top of Sugarloaf mountain to watch the sunset. That should be good.
We anchor off the coast of a small island called Ilhabela on Wednesday where I will be taking a guided walk through a rainforest.
So a busy couple of days, but hopefully lots of photos to share later this week.
